Problem
Many students and tutors face challenges in finding a centralised, convenient platform to connect for personalised learning. The search for the right tutor or learning support can be overwhelming, with unclear options and confusing processes. Students often struggle to find a tutor who fits their needs, while tutors find it difficult to reach the right audience and establish meaningful connections.
Furthermore, traditional tutoring platforms lack flexibility and don’t take full advantage of modern technology to create more interactive and engaging learning experiences. As a result, both students and tutors miss out on opportunities to maximize their potential in education.
How I solved the problem?
1. The interviews
As I worked on Edtalk, I spoke with students and tutors to learn about their struggles with online tutoring. Two main issues emerged:
Scenario 1:
- Students found it difficult to stay organized without a proper online tool to manage lessons, progress, and payments.
Scenario 2:
- Tutors faced challenges managing lessons, scheduling, and payments efficiently, often relying on multiple tools, which complicated their workflow.
These insights showed that both groups needed a more streamlined platform. Edtalk was created to address these gaps by offering an all-in-one solution that simplifies lesson management and payment processing, making the online tutoring experience smoother and more effective for everyone involved.
2. Competitor Analysis
In my analysis of several tutoring platforms, I found that many failed to offer comprehensive tools for lesson management and payment processing. Most platforms lacked the features tutors needed to efficiently manage their workflow, leaving them to use multiple tools to handle scheduling, payments, and communication. At Edtalk, I saw this as an opportunity to create a better solution.
By studying the strengths and weaknesses of competitors, I identified key areas for improvement and developed innovative features that set Edtalk apart. With a focus on streamlining the tutoring process, Edtalk provides a platform that simplifies everything from lesson scheduling to payment processing, ensuring a smooth, efficient, and personalized experience for both students and tutors.
3. Final product
The final product of Edtalk is a fully functional mobile app that streamlines the tutoring experience for both students and tutors. The app offers features for lesson management, scheduling, and payment processing, all within a single platform.
